An OSB member will be available to familiarize you with your duties and help with greeting the school and filling out their paperwork. Volunteers will help provide a structured and educational environment for the students while they wait for their turn in the OSB store. Before the school arrives, prepare conference room by pulling out carts with books and flash cards. Place containers of crayons and pencils on the tables. Greet students at door and have students line up by gender, they will be seated by grade and gender. Review the Five Rules of Conduct. Students will receive a grade-appropriate word search and coloring sheet. After they finish worksheets, you may play card games, practice sight words or flashcards, complete Mad Lib sheets, read or play a board game that is located in the lower cabinet beneath the crayons. The children like to play quiz games at their tables with the flash cards. The children really enjoy the extra attention from our volunteers.
