Project Homeless Connect 2015 |
| Date: Nov 17, 2015 at 7:00am to 7:00pm | |
This is a service event that REALLY helps out those experiencing homelessness in the Las Vegas community. As someone who experienced homelessness at a very young age, this is an issue that is very near and dear to my heart. With that being said, I'd love it if we had a great turn out! Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or problems. Thanks!
I've also attached an event for the flyer as well as a volunteer FAQ.

In one day at a Project Homeless Connect event, a person experiencing homelessness can find services that would otherwise take months to secure. During each event, corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies provide participants with services through PHC. These services include dental care, eyeglasses, HIV testing, housing information, food, hygiene products, medical care, mental health services, SSI benefits, legal advice, California identification cards, voice mail accounts, employment counseling/job placement, wheelchair repair, addiction services, and more.
Services provided aim to break down barriers to housing and self sufficiency, including but not limited to shelter, health care, legal issues, job readiness, food and behavioral health. Since its establishment, the National Homeless Alliance has convened community partners in the planning and execution of 22 Project Homeless Connects. The last five years alone, these events have assisted more than 15,000 homeless clients in accessing resources and services. PHC includes more than 100 service providers and 700 community volunteers who serve more than 3,000 individuals per event. It has been a community event for the last 22 years. In 2015, we will be holding PHC on November 17 at Cashman Center. The event will focus on serving not only those who are currently homeless, but those at risk of homelessness. | |
