Student Ambassadors Needed: GVSU Career Fair, Thursday, October 19th, 2017– DeVos Place Convention Center (DOWNTOWN) What is an Ambassador? · A student representative who volunteers their time and skills to serve employers during the career fair. · We would appreciate your willingness to volunteer if you are interested AND your schedule is open. · We will take volunteers on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a great opportunity to: · See what the Career Fair is all about (good for future preparation) · Interact with employers in a casual way--building career networks. · Begin to explore opportunities for employment and internships. Each year ambassadors secure interviews that lead to job/internship opportunities: o Volunteer at a GVSU event. o Connect with Career Services early in your college experience. What you will do: · Dress in business casual clothing. You will be on your feet for the shift so wear comfortable, professional, shoes. –You will also be provided a “Work Like a Laker” t-shirt to wear the day of or to keep for your service · Arrive ten minutes prior to your shift and check in at the Student Ambassador table outside the fair entrance. · Be ready to assist employers carrying items for set-up/take-down. · Provide water and other items as needed to employers.
