Creating a Culture of Nutrition Equity: Moving Ideas into Actions for Food Justice with Dr. Darcy Freedman The food system is shaped by the values we hold and, in turn, regulates the rate at which justice is achieved through actions of the food system. In this presentation, I will provide a systems framework for setting nutrition equity as a core value to guide local food systems work in racialized urban communities. I will then review strategies for translating values of freedom, hope, and dignity into community-driven actions aimed at improving economic opportunity, food security, fair access to fresh and healthy foods, and holistic health among people and communities.
