Buckeye Precious Plastic Donation! |
| Date: Feb 1, 2026 at 12:00pm to Feb 28, 2026 at 12:00pm | |
Help collect plastic for Buckeye Precious Plastic on campus! The student organization turns type 2 and type 5 plastics into keychains and other cool products!
If you collect type 2 and type 5 plastics, you can get service hours! For every bag you collect (roughly a plastic grocery bag size), you will receive 1 service hour. You can donate up to 4 bags for 4 service hours total!
To tell if a plastic is type 2 or 5, the bottom of most containers will have the number encircled by the 3 recycling arrows. Below is a rough guide:
#2/HDPE: bottle caps, shampoo bottles, detergent bottles, ….
#5/PP: disposable contact cases, yogurt containers, clear disposable drink cups, …

IMPORTANT: To drop off your plastic donations, you have two options. You can either drop them off during BPP's open labs in Baker Systems 090 every Friday. You can also drop them off during BPP's meetings every other Tuesday in Enarson 243 at 4:30pm.
I highly recommend you join their GroupMe to stay updated on any potential changes to their lab and general body meeting schedule:
