Hello Everyone! Our Cincinnati Light The Night Walk is approaching quickly and we need YOUR help! Light The Night is our largest, most mission driven event, and we are in need of folks to help us with a variety of jobs at the walk on October 19th at Yeatman’s Cove, in Downtown Cincinnati. Here are the volunteer opportunities we have available. If you have a preference, please list your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice and I will do my best to place you in one of them. If you don’t have a preference, that works too! Once you get assigned to a spot, I will follow up with more detailed information so you know what to expect. *Please note: if you have already emailed me about volunteering at Light The Night this year, you can disregard* · Set-Up: Help the staff set up the smaller tents, remembrance pavilion, tables, chairs, signage, supplies and anything else they may need. · Greeters: Welcome walkers, hand out Leis of Light, and help guide people where they need to go. · Registration: Check walkers in, help them register, collect money, answer questions, and distribute wristbands and t-shirt tickets for those who raised $100+. · Lantern Tent: Assemble and hand out lanterns to every registered walker. · T-Shirts: Collect t-shirt tickets and provide walker with requested shirt size. · VIP Tent: Greet our VIP guests, check on them throughout the meal and help clear the tables once finished. · Team Photographer: Set up in a designated area where teams can gather for group pictures. · Roaming Photographer: Follow our list of picture needs to take a combination of candid and posed pictures to perfectly capture the special evening · Social Media Photographer: Help us share the highlights of the evening through our various LLS social media platforms. · Food/Drinks: Help manage vendor booths and serve food to walkers. · Course Directors: Cheer walkers on at the start and along the course and make sure they stay on course · Remembrance Pavilion: Welcome walkers into the tent and provide instruction to help make the walkers visit to the tent as peaceful as it can be in their moment of sadness and remembrance · Start & Finish Line: At the start, cheer walkers on and at the finish, congratulate walkers and guide them back to the park for the fireworks show and a special sweet treat. · Clean Up: Help staff pack up supplies, take down signage, pack up the truck, break down tables and chairs, etc. Clean up will begin as soon as the walk starts. Set-up volunteers are needed anytime from 9:30am – approx. 3:00pm. Walk night volunteers are needed from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. The majority of clean-up will begin right as the walk starts at 7:30pm. Volunteers are responsible for cleaning up their specific areas but if you are able to stay and help with additional clean up after your area is done, we would greatly appreciate it.
