Working Women Lead the Way

Date: Mar 8, 2021 at 8:00pm to 9:08pm
Celebrate IWD with Breaking the Chains Magazine! Women workers have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic and deep economic crisis. It is no surprise then that the struggle for dignity and rights under the crushing weight of the economic crisis exacerbated by COVID-19 is led by women: from the Amazon worker strikes, the national uprisings against racism, the teacher struggle for safe school reopening, the fight for the cancelation or rents and mortgages. Women are not only fierce fighters for justice but are well positioned to lead and run society itself. International Women’s Day acknowledges the contributions of and gains won by women in the struggle for liberation. The mass action of working women initiated IWD in the late 19th century. Socialists and revolutionaries sustained it as a day to recognize working women. Today, it is widely celebrated around the world. On International Women’s Day, Breaking the Chains magazine, a one of its kind feminist, socialist magazine in the United States, is hosting “There’s No Socialism Without Women’s Liberation.” Women on the frontlines of a diverse range of struggles will speak to their experiences as women leaders. Women’s leadership is vital to the success of these fights for these issues. All working class issues are women’s issues. That’s what we say that the struggle for socialism goes hand in hand with the liberation of women. bit.ly/btciwd2021
