This month Patagonia will launch Patagonia Action Works, a new digital tool designed to meaningfully connect communities with local Patagonia enviro grantees. In celebration of this launch, Patagonia is hosting a breakfast and volunteer day! Of the many activities that this event entails, the Intervale Center work is the only activity that would qualify for service hours: "Join the Intervale Conservation Nursery to help collect hardwood cuttings that will eventually be propagated to create new trees and shrubs for riparian restoration projects. Hardwood cutting collection is when you go out into nature and cut portions of a branch off of a tree/shrub. The tree/shrub is dormant (sleeping) at the time, so harvesting cuttings doesn't harm the tree. We collect these cuttings for starting trees/shrubs in our greenhouse in March. Once the cuttings are collected they are stored in the cooler under a blanket of snow until they are ready to be planted. Volunteers should be dressed warmly, with hats, gloves and warm boots. We will provide pruners." -Please REGISTER for the Intervale Center sessions if you want service hours for this event: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/answer-with-action-volunteer-opportunity-sign-up-tickets-42913062124
