American Red Cross Event: Harlem Globetrotters |
| Date: Mar 29, 2018 at 6:00pm to 9:00pm | |
The Red Cross is the official charity for the Harlem Globetrotters. During select games on their national tour, the Red Cross partners with them to help raise funds for the Red Cross. A portion of ticket sales are donated to the Red Cross and the Red Cross conducts a “pass the bucket†during half-time for those who wish to donate monies can.
APO volunteers are asked to assist with the “pass the bucket†portion. During halftime, volunteers will be in designated areas to pass the bucket and collect donations. Volunteers will register at the Red Cross table prior to the game to get their assigned location to pass the bucket and other supplies (i.e. bucket, Red Cross vest, etc.). Volunteers will then be able to enjoy the game for free (great social opportunity!). The pass the bucket aspect will occur at halftime and afterwards, volunteers will return the monies collected and their supplies and then be able to continue to watch the second half, or free to leave as the volunteering aspect will have been completed

If you sign-up but realize you are unable to attend you must let me know at least 24 hours beforehand. Failure to do so will result in half of the hours you signed up for to be added to your total number of brother hours to be completed. (This does not impact the overall service requirement of 20 hours, but rather that you have to do 11 brother hours and 9 individual instead of 10 and 10, for example) | |
