SUNY will be hosting a system-wide event in the form of a public deliberation* on the history, problems, and future of voting in the United States. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with other students in colleges throughout the system to discuss these topics in small groups via Zoom, led by faculty from SUNY institutions. This event will use materials developed by the National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI) of Dayton, Ohio, as part of their With the People initiative. Students from SUNY New Paltz who attend this event will have the opportunity to train others on campus in order to open up the dialogue on voting and other important social and political issues.
