Human Library

Date: Mar 29, 2022 at 11:00am to 8:11pm
Join Campus Ministry and the Division of Student Affairs at Bellarmine University's first Human Library, an event aimed at dismantling sigma and prejudice against minoritized and stigmatized communities. Attendees (called "readers") check out individuals ("books") who have experienced stigma or negative experiences related to their expressions or identities to engage in an open and safe dialogue aimed at learning about the lived experiences of those books. The Human Library has taken place in countless cities and towns around the world, and we are beyond excited to bring this event to Bellarmine. While event details are being planned, please feel free to RSVP to indicate that you will be joining us! If you would be interested in participating in the Human Library as a book, please contact Anderson Reeves in Campus Ministry at areeves@bellarmine.edu More information about the Human Library: The Human Library Organization was founded in Denmark in 2000 and is now in over 80 countries. It aims to contribute to greater understanding and inclusion between people worldwide. Its method is via safe dialogue between very different individuals who would not otherwise have had an opportunity to talk together. Click here for more information.
