Face to Face conversation on the impact of mass incarceration in the United States. In the United States there were 2,162,400 adult individuals incarcerated by the end of 2016. Incarceration can lead to lower family functioning, impaired social networks, decreased high school graduation, decreased employment rates, increase in violence and victimization, poorer mental health outcomes, and a decrease in intimacy, family interactions and quality times.
