Maria has worked as a Parole Officer in the city of Albany for 17 years. Before that, she was a Probation Officer for 10 years. 3 weeks ago, her life drastically changed. She went into the hospital for a broken hip and a fractured arm and had surgery on both. Testing determined that she has lung and bone cancer. She’s in rehab right now with a scheduled surgery for her back soon. She will begin chemotherapy soon. They are fundraising for medical care not covered by insurance and other unforeseen expenses.
