Yet the cost of insulin is increasing at an alarming rate. It’s time for change. Join the American Diabetes Association in calling for action. Add your name to the petition below: https://makeinsulinaffordable.org/petition/ A recent court decision in Texas threatens protections for people with pre-existing conditions. For the diabetes community, quality, affordable health coverage is at risk. Without these protections, people with pre-existing conditions were previously denied insurance coverage, charged higher premiums, and had benefits limited. Sign our petition now to tell Congress that 1.25 million Americans with T1D – a serious, chronic disease – need continued access to comprehensive health insurance at rates similar to those without pre-existing conditions. Urge Congress to preserve protections for pre-existing conditions, and tell others to join us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #Coverage2Control. https://jdrf.salsalabs.org/protectcoverage2control/index.html?fbclid=IwAR1RnIyGqYKrFUkOxQ7zOujooh722Fttcfsh1azQmhahuOi1H8OfiJaTMLc&_ga=2.201264814.1220828331.1551985215-1001499346.1549400873 Current New York education law specifies how glucagon can be administered and, consequently, what training school nurses can provide to unlicensed school personnel -- limiting student access to and staff training on less invasive glucagon products.
