ALS Walk

Date: Oct 29, 2016 at 7:00am to 12:30pm
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose the ability to initiate and control muscle movement, which often leads to total paralysis. The walk is a way to raise money for research and provide care for individuals with ALS. Volunteers will be helping with set up, registration, cheering on walkers, and break down of the event afterwards. Transportation: drive to the Vienna and then take Metro to the Smithsonian stop.
