Merit Badge University is a weekend-long event where over 400 Boy Scouts come to our campus, and earn merit badges that are taught by students just like us, and other volunteers. Volunteers are greatly needed for: classroom assistance, registration, campus directions, lifeguards, and so much more! There are Merit Badges that fit anyone's interest- for example an engineering major could classroom assist the Engineering badge, a nursing major can assist in the First Aid badge, a music student in the music badge. and so many more! If you would like to learn more then you can visit their website here dcmbu.wordpress.com. I already signed us up as a group so you do not need to register! You can stay for the whole time of the event, but there are shifts to accommodate your schedules for the weekend. If you are going at the later shift, you will have to meet up at Sandy Creek by 11:30 am in order to drive to the event and make it on time for the 12:30 shift. This time is to account for any traffic on your way there! The chair is responsible for making sure everyone is accounted for during the event. This means the chair HAS to stay for the ENTIRE DURATION OF THE EVENT. IMPORTANT: You will be driving to the event location. This is because the metro is not going to be open until later in the morning! Please make sure to be at SANDY CREEK at the time posted because the event starts at 7 so this will give you enough time to arrive at the event. Please wear your letters or any APO paraphernalia to the event!!! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as well!
