Traveling Stories is an organization that empowers children to go for their dream through literacy support and mentoring. After a few years without being able to have any in person events due to COVID-19, Traveling Stories is excited to have their first fundraiser and in person event since 2020 and is happy to present the 1st Annual Walk for Literacy event. They are looking for AT LEAST 3 volunteers to help make this event successful (especially in group 2), however, many more are welcome. *PLEASE READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY* There will be two different groups of volunteers based on what is needed by the organization. Group 1 Volunteers Will: (8:00 am - 11:00 am) - Dress up as any story book character (Disney, Hungry Caterpillar, etc.) - Help along the route (Cheer people on, hand out water, etc.) - 2 Volunteers have been requested to play “Where’s Waldo” during the event and the costume will be provided (Please Comment Below If You Want to Dress Up As Where’s Waldo!) Group 2 Volunteers Will: (7:45 am - 11:30 am) - Assist the volunteer coordinator during the event - Will be moved around to where help is needed - Can dress up as storybook character if you wish This is an in-person event, so please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to drive over and find parking! After volunteering, please take a picture and send it to the philanthropy email (philanthropy@aposdsu.org) within 48 HOURS for credit. And if you would like to chair, please comment "chair" below!
