Mar 8, 2019 at 8:30pm to 11:00pm 1420 Third Avenue, San Diego, CA Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO) has provided 20,793 meals, serving more than 14,900 people who are mostly homeless, the working poor, and low-income senior citizens in Downtown San Diego. They serve two hot meals a week. On Friday, volunteers should arrive around 8:30 a.m. in order to become acquainted and the meal service will start at 9:00 a.m. Right before the meal the pastor from First Lutheran Church says a short prayer. Volunteers serve the meal, work outside to monitor the tray returns, and hand out hygiene and clothing. Volunteers are usually there about two hours.
