The Street Cafe is a mobile program that serves healthy, delicious food in a pop-up farmer's market style. The goal of the Street Cafe is to address food insecurity within the homeless community. Guests "shop" for the meals and produce that they want, while information is distributed on healthy choices that can be bought at local fast-food restaurants with EBT.
Volunteers will be put into three sections: entrance, shopping, and exit.
Entrance: Volunteers will warmly welcome guests and ensure that each guest is signed onto our sign-in sheet and completes our 1-page intake form.
Shopping: Volunteers can either assist guests with their "shopping" or take inventory of selected items on our forms.
Exit: Volunteers will assist guests with our exit form, engage in conversation with guests to collect honest feedback of our programs, and provide Think Dignity resources for healthy meal options.
