From the coordinator: "We will be selecting and shipping close to 500 bears and any of your group are welcome to attend!" "As part of our outreach program, Rare Science coordinates the making of "RARE Bears" - one of a kind quilted bears made by volunteers. Once a month we gather to fulfill requests - parents apply for a bear for their child. The bears are matched to the children based on the information the parents provide (age, gender, favorite hobbies, colors, etc). A bear is selected and packaged for shipping at our monthly Bear Matching events."
