You will help guide the boats onto shore in accordance to boat numbers, hold the boat as paddlers get on and off the boat in a safe and efficient manner and assist them in doing so when necessary as well as cleaning off and drying out the boats when the boats are empty in between races. Please advise everyone to wear clothing that are comfortable and do not mind getting wet and preferably flip flops or sandals if they chose to wear footwear on the beach, and also bring a change of clothes just in case they want to change before they leave.We are hoping that it will be a sunny weekend in San Diego, so it would be nice to have sunscreen and a hat or sunglasses. Please advise everyone not to bring valuables if unnecessary, as there will be a Volunteer tent available for volunteers to leave their bags and belongings at the race site, however the tent is not monitored 100% of the time and we will not be responsible for anything that is stolen or lost. (But belongings have been safe in the past) We may also need help setting up pop-up tents in the morning and breaking them down on Sunday afternoon. Water and lunch will be provided for volunteers.
