Weekly Leadership Challenge: Motivation

Date: Oct 2, 2016 at 12:00am to Oct 8, 2016 at 12:00am
What or who motivates you? Motivation is something that most people lack in today's world. "I'm too lazy, I don't want to do it." "Why do I have to do it?" "Screw homework, I give up." Whether it be external or internal motivation, we all need something to get us moving. We need something to push us to do better, to get work done, to strive for more. So, what about you? What or who motivates you? Email me at leadership@aposdsu.org ! Example: I failed my first ever test last week. I was heartbroken, disappointed and lost confidence in myself and in my capabilities. I know it isn't a big deal to a lot of people -- everyone fails sometimes. But for me, it was a HUGE deal because I'm the type of person who cares too much about everything. What motivated me to get back on my feet are my other nursing friends. The people in my cohort are supportive, encouraging, and uplifting. They know what I'm going through academically, and will not let me fail out of this difficult nursing program. My peers motivated me to do better, strive for more, and work harder. Without them, I don't know how I would be today.
