Volunteers will be helping with the Early Wave, Main Wave, and Kids Wave. Parking: This will be a little bit challenging that day. However, you will arriving a little before the rush. Plan to give yourselves 15 minutes to find neighborhood parking. Ideal locations will be to look south of Garnet Ave between the Bayard and Dawes blocks. - When You Arrive: On the beach, check-in with the Volunteer Coordinator, who will be standing at the tent labeled VOLUNTEERS. You'll be asked to sign-in and then will be coordinating responsibilities at that point. - Day of responsibilities could include the following: Directing participants on where to go in the morning Registration/Check-In Preparing food (oranges, bananas, etc.) Gear check support Serving water, either at start/finish line or on course Supporting start/finish line which includes directing traffic within the corrals, helping participants remove timing chips, handing out medals Course Marshals along course – ensuring participants stay on course and more importantly, tourists and residents make way for all of our runners! - What You Will Receive: All volunteers will receive Pacific Beachfest 5k sunglasses and a beer ticket for one craft beer after the event (for 21+ only). We also have free t-shirts for volunteers but in limited quantity. So first come first served!
