Weekly Leadership Challenge: Inspiration

Date: Sep 25, 2016 at 12:00am to Oct 2, 2016 at 12:00am
After hearing some of the things you are passionate about, a question that popped into my head was, "I wonder if anyone inspired them?" So this week's challenge is Inspiration. Who or what inspires you? We focus so much on inspiring others, yet we often do not even know who or what inspires us. When you remember your inspiration and think about them/it once in a while, it can help fuel your motivation. Please email leadership@aposdsu.org who or what inspires you, how did they/it inspire you, and how would you want to inspire others? "There is no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let people get inspired by how you deal with your imperfections." Example: I have been inspired to become a nurse by a patient. Nursing is NOT something I ever thought about doing; in fact, it was the last thing on my mind. However, while interning at UCI Medical Center during the summer of 2014, I was inspired by an almost thirty years old osteoporosis patient at the Acute Rehabilitation Center. She made me want to help people for the rest of my life and have the same kind of nurse to patient interaction as I had with her. Whenever I feel like giving up in nursing school or changing my major, I think of her and our past conversations. She inspired me not only become a nurse but to become a better version of myself and to constantly challenge myself to aim for higher than my limitations. I hope to inspire others the way she has inspired me. I want to be able to make someone think of their future and help them by motivating them to do beyond their expectations of themselves.
