The mission of Days for Girls is to sew and distribute reusable menstrual health kits while advocating for period product access and education. For sewing events with other orgs, we focus on sewing the drawstring bags that hold DfG kit components, as they are simple and include many sewing & non-sewing steps: 1. Ironing fabric & bags at several points in the production 2. Cutting fabric 3. Serging fabric (beginner level) 4. Tracing patterns & gluing labels on fabric 5. Sewing labels onto bags (beginner level) 6. Sewing sides of the bags (beginner level) 7. Sewing the casing (intermediate level) 8. Sewing side reinforcements (advanced level) 9. Cutting, heat sealing, & threading ribbon to create drawstrings
